Welcome to the Abingdon-Avon C.U.S.D. #276 website. We are pleased to have you visit our website and hope that you find it informative and helpful. A good elementary and secondary education is absolutely critical for laying the foundation for success in our society. It continues to be our mission as educators to ensure that we provide our students with the best possible start on the road to a productive and successful life.
We are committed to providing a challenging curriculum, skilled instruction, and a learning environment that responds to individual student academic needs. Our dedicated and skilled staff and innovative school leaders are guided by research and the belief that every student is capable of attaining high levels of educational achievement in preparation for meeting the rigorous demand of the 21st century. I am excited to be part of such an outstanding school district which values the education of all their students.
Over the course of the year, we will focus on the following four goals:
- Analyze data to inform instruction, utilize proven instructional practices, and realign curriculum, where necessary, to ensure student success as measured by grade level proficiency targets on a variety of indicators.
- Enhance the flow of information between and among various constituencies to ensure timely and pertinent items of importance are communicated.
- Maintain the District’s financial stability while providing a quality education for all students. Furthermore, the District will continue to explore and implement district-wide cost-savings measures to ensure the best opportunity for our District to prosper in the future.
- Effectively communicate the opportunities and challenges facing the District that are critical for student success in curricular and extracurricular programs and the ways in which the community can actively support those programs.
Through collaboration and shared leadership our District will excel in providing a safe and invitational school climate that welcomes the involvement of students, parents, educators, staff, and the community.
